Hey there, it’s Dmitry, founder of AriadneJobs. Today is another updates post, this time focused on the part of the app that I start to like more than any other part - the Funnel.

Interviewing Stage and Funnel Notes

Nothing is better than dogfooding to figure out the best ways to improve your software. Once I started using AriadneJobs for my own job search, it became apparent that the funnel was missing a column for an application stage: Interviewing. So, we have this one now :)

The Funnel’s New Look

Apart from adding the interviewing stage, I also figured that showing job summaries on this view is not needed. I do remember (at least roughly xD) what the job was about, because I applied to it! And not showing the summaries allows you to see more jobs in all their different stages at the same time.

Instead, we show those summaries on a new view accessible if you click on the little Notes > link at any bottom of any of the funnel cards: the expanded funnel card view.

You can now add notes to any of the jobs in the funnel, which is super useful to remember things like “what did they ask and what did I answer on the application form?”, “what did we talk about with the recruiter”, etc.

I plan to expand the capabilities of this new view in the future, but even in this simple state, it’s something I’m using every day now.

Other Changes

I also did some smaller changes to the funnel, for example, you can move cards now via the icon in the top left corner of a card - this unifies the experience between desktop and mobile.

And, as usual, bug fixes abound + I did performance optimization on the jobs data model, and the app now feels snappier.
